Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV CAD surface modeling

The goal of this project was to be able to accurately replicate a physical product digitally (reverse-surfacing) with the help of blueprints. As compared to reverse surfacing using 2D blueprints and photographs, 3D scanning or other digitization techniques are more accurate and confirm to production or reverse engineering tolerances. But this project was carried out with the sole intention of improving and refining the 3D modeling skills while going about achieving the accuracy one would get from a 3D digitization system

3D Modeling

Defining the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV volume using CAD NURBS surface modeling. The main aim was to achieve a clean surface patch topology distribution and curvature continuity between surfaces throughout. Primary surfaces were set to adhere to tighter G3 curvature continuity tolerance. The secondary goal was to reflect and resemble the shape and form of the original production Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV. The overall volumetric shape and brand language provided ample challenges and opportunities to try out various approaches and numerous iterations of patch planning

CGI Rendering

The virtual image generated was targeted to be an exact or a close replica of the physical world. The goal was to create a systematic workflow or a pipeline comprising of a variety of processes that would help in the generation of static virtual-reality images of a product. The CGI rendered frames are of great use in product visualization and communicationnd help in perceiving how the product would feel and interact when brought into the physical world
